DW_Bad Wolf is Blaidd-Drwg
Song and artist found. Thanks so much everyone for helping me identify this and for those who've let me know about the song being on the official Leverage soundtrack cd. The members of this community are awesome!

----------original request below----------

** Sorry about the title confusion, I think my brain went to sleep and forgot to tell me. All fixed now. - Elf **

Late in the episode when Nate and the Big Bad of the week are playing in the back room poker game what is the song that's playing & who sings it?

To the best of my hearing these are some of the lyrics that I jotted down (hopefully correctly): all the promises broken, the best plans are made/ ship comes to shore/ you can't go home again/ no you can't go home again.

I've about driven myself up a wall trying to find the song title & artist through lyric searches on search engines and iTunes. Didn't have any luck with TNT's home page for Leverage either.

I'm betting that someone here can help me, pretty please.

Try googling the lyrics...

Hang on a moment...

Yeah...huh that normally works. *pokes at google* Okay It's been a while since I watched Beantown, but I shall put it on in a few moments and see. I don't remember a poker game at the end of that episode. I do remember one at the end of The Bottle Job. But I'll also admit Beantown isn't one of the ones I tend to re-watch a lot.

It is The Bottle Job, and when you punch that into Google Ask Yahoo tells us it's an original composition by Joe DeLuca in the style of Flogging Molly. It's titled "Can't Go Home Again", and is not available anywhere (yet!).
30th-May-2010 03:36 pm (UTC)
It's not on his CD? The one that was available at ConCon?

The song was also in the '12-Step Job' from the first season and is on the soundtrack - I posted a SendSpace link for the song a little further down in the comments.

Well that works...I didn't want it...but that'll help the person looking.

*yawns* Tired now...but I should be writing. Good thing I have tomorrow off....I can sleep later and stay up tonight.

Well apparently there's a Season 1 soundtrack I wasn't aware existed. *scurries off to Amazon*
30th-May-2010 07:45 pm (UTC)
Ah...yeah that too. Think that was for offer at ConCon too.
30th-May-2010 10:15 pm (UTC)
No worries I don't think I was aware of a Leverage soundteack either!
31st-May-2010 03:08 am (UTC)
I'm definitely making the official soundtrack part of my next order from Amazon!

Thanks for straightening me out on the title. Staying up all night watching all the episodes and then trying to type probably wasn't my smartest idea. I've fixed that in the subject line now. :-)

And I appreciate you helping me identify the artist and song title. Thanks so much!

LOL, I was thinking of the wrong episode title. Hee, no wonder I had no luck with google, bing!, et al.
30th-May-2010 02:07 pm (UTC)
I think the one you're talking about is from the "The Bottle Job", and if so, it's "Can't Go Home" by Joseph LoDuca, written especially for Leverage. :) Check out a sound clip here, just to make sure this is the song you're looking for.

Thank you for your help. I thought I was going to go crazy trying to figure this out. :-)

The song is "Can't Go Home Again" by Joe LoDuca. It was also used in "12-Step". It's reminicent of Flogging Molly and Drop Kick Murphy. You can find it on the Official Leverage Soundtrack here on Amazon.

The other song played in that ep. Is "Not Sure Yet" by Andy Lange. It's played when Nate smells the whiskey and then puts the bill on the glass at the end of the ep.

Thanks so much for helping me identify this and letting me know it's on Official Leverage Soundtrack. You're awesome!

Um...do you perhaps mean Bottle Job? Or the song playing as Sophie walks away from Nate at the end of Beantown?

There is no poker scene in Beantown. I just watched the entire episode.

Oops! My mistake, I'd stayed up all night watching all the dvds and got the title with The Bottle Job mixed up with Beantown Bailout. hee. Well, at least they both started with B's.
31st-May-2010 02:41 pm (UTC)
LOL oops. Glad you got it straightened out now. Oh well...it was a good excuse to start watching the episodes. :-) Hmm I should finish today or at least attempt to. I've got 6 I think left.

You're so very kind. Thanks for the offer, but relativity1953 has gone ahead and posted a download link.

Everyone is right - it's 'The Bottle Job'. However, the big bad mentions the crime family from 'The Beantown Bailout Job'.

The song was also in the first season episode 'The 12 Step Job'. It played at the beginning with the not-really-badguy trying to sing along and then asks his secretary about it. It is on the season one soundtrack - 'Can't Go Home Again'.

Here's my SendSpace link to download it:

Snagged. Thanks for sharing that with all of us. I liked that song.
31st-May-2010 03:05 am (UTC)
Ah, maybe that's what my brain hooked onto (the mention of the crime family from TBBJ). Note to self, don't do a marathon of episodes and try to type sense. *wink*

Wow, I totally forgot about the song being used in 'The 12 Step Job'. You've got a great memory.

I will definitely buy the Leverage soundtrack, but in the meantime I'll enjoy hearing the song from your download link. Thanks very, very much!

Snagged also...since I'm making a vid for a friend for her birthday and trying to think of music for Leverage. Might as well use some of the actual music.

Hey Elf! I think you got a lot of help on that one. But thank for bring it up because I got the song now too! Always nice to get new Leverage things! And now I'm gonna go decide whether I wanna watch some Leverage or some Fast and the Furious......

So how's everything in your neck of the woods?
31st-May-2010 03:24 am (UTC)
Ooh, that's a tough choice. Depending on you time window I say watch at least one FaF movie and an episode of 'Leverage'. Best of both worlds. Hee!

I actually have watched both this week. Yesterday & today have been' Leverage', Thursday was '2 Fast 2 Furious' and tomorrow is a back to back of my blu-ray copies of 'The Fast & The Furious' and 'Fast & Furious'.

Thanks for asking. Things here are good, actually went for a walk with my walking buddy this afternoon. Didn't let myself talk myself out of fresh air & exercise. ;-) Apparently though, the mixed up brain thing with titles is genetic. Took my Dad to the movies today. I let him out to buy the tickets while I found a parking spot. I get inside and get my ticket to find out he bought ones for the wrong movie. LOL. Meant to go see Prince of Persia, but ended up with Shrek 3 which did have some laughs in it, so it wasn't a total waste of a couple of hours.
